Financial Controller

The Financial Controller is responsible for the daily operations of the planning & Controlling services by establishing & executing internal controls over the company’s accounting, financial planning & procedures. The financial controller plays a key role in maintaining an adequate financial internal control environment and helps to maintain the strategic lines.
Responsibilities
  • Manages financial control policy, processes & procedures to maintain and strengthen internal financial controls;
  • Manages prepararation of company financial budget and forecasts;
  • Develops document business processes and policies to maintain and strengthens internal controls;
  • Ensures compliance with applicable internal financial control procedures;
  • Manages credit analysis and reporting;
  • Monitors and assesses the organization’s revenue and expenditure to conduct budget control analysis and advise the organization;
  • Defines regularly required management financial information to manage financial control & KPI reporting;
  • Prepares and publishes timely monthly financial reports;
  • Calculates and analyzes variances from the budget and take action to establish cost effective business environment;
  • Optimizes financial control services to improve service delivery & quality;
  • Assists in presenting reports to stakeholders and board members.

 

Requirements:
  • Education: Master’s degree in Accounting. CPA / RA preferred;
  • Experience: at least five (5) years of experience in the field of control or auditing and accounting;
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent numerical ability to be able to analyze business processes and redesigning them in order to improve them;
  • Reliable and skilled mediation;
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and see the big picture while focusing on the opportunities for cost reduction and/or revenue increase;
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • A team player with strong interpersonal, social and communication skills to work close with budget/ process owners;
  • Ability to met tight deadlines and juggle multiple priorities;
  • Strong written and verbal communicators in Dutch, English, Spanish and Papiamentu;
  • Good knowledge of office technology in particular, mastery in Excel and databases.
